ARTIST STATEMENT

Paradise: Faux Park, Paradise Waters, Sea World, Hope Island, Isle of Capri.

Tiny worlds completely covered in the altered landscape of human realty. 'Accurately' drawn from maps of Gold Coast canal estates where not too long ago fish, bird, insects and humans lived, hunted and played in the tidal estuaries, amongst the mangroves as they had for millennia, before concrete, bitumen and McMansions claimed ownership of the wetlands.

Certain problems arise when wrapping a 2D plane around a 3D object, therefore these maps range from completely accurate, to approximate, to wildly inaccurate.
